GALLERY TARGETでは11月27日より、Masahiro Akutagawa as MHAKの個展 『C.W.L.』 を開催いたします。
前回の個展 “Ten”（2015）から10年。
この間、彼は“線”を軸とした思考を深化させ、その探求はより複雑で立体的な広がりを帯びてきました。
本展で掲げる “C.W.L.（Coexistence with life）” は、これまで掲げてきた “coexist with living” から一歩踏み込み、生命や環境、人間関係など、複数のレベルで同時に存在し合う「共存／共生」を指し示す言葉として選ばれています。
作家は今回、迷彩という歴史的パターンを、隠すための装置ではなく、
“生きるもの同士が重なり合う構造”として再定義しました。
その上に独自の“線”を接続することで、これまでの蓄積と、ここから始まる章がひとつの層となって現れます。
“C.W.L.” は、Masahiro Akutagawa as MHAKにとって明確な転換点となるシリーズです。

GALLERY TARGET is pleased to announce "C.W.L." by Masahiro Akutagawa as MHAK, starting from Nov. 27th, 2025.
It has been ten years since his previous solo exhibition, “Ten” (2015). During this time, his contemplations on the “line” have deepened—expanding from a formal pursuit into a more layered, organic, and quietly resonant exploration. His practice has evolved into a complex, multidimensional field of inquiry. The title of this exhibition, “C.W.L. (Coexistence with Life),” goes beyond his former phrase “coexist with living,”and is chosen to signify a state of coexistence/co-habitation that unfolds simultaneously across multiple levels—life, environment, and human relationships.
In this exhibition, the artist redefines camouflage, a pattern with historical significance, not as a means to hide, but as a living architecture where forms overlap, echo, and coexist. Upon this foundation, he connects his distinctive lines, allowing the accumulated layers of his past and the quiet emergence of a new chapter to surface together as one shared stratum.
“C.W.L.” marks a clear turning point for Masahiro Akutagawa as MHAK. We invite you to experience it.
