3 ギャラリー合同展示会「VIEWING」開催のお知らせ

このたびSAI では、2021年6月24日(木) より6月27日( 日) まで、GALLERY TARGET、MAKI gallery、GALLERY COMMON、３ つのギャラリーによる合同展示会「VIEWING」を開催いたします
本展示は、今年6 月に緊急事態宣言によって惜しくも中止が決まったアートフェア「art stage OSAKA 2021」に出展を予定していた各ギャラリーの、展示予定だった作家への意向により実現した展示になります。
東京のカルチャーベース、原宿、表参道エリアを拠点とする各ギャラリーは、いずれも日本を牽引するギャラリーとして広く認知されておりますが、今回は１つのギャラリーの枠を超えて一同に作品を展開いたします。国内アートシーンをこれまで牽引してきたベテラン作家から、今後の活躍に期待を込められた若手作家まで、多様なアプローチを用いて各方面から注目を集めるアーティストらの作品が集まる本展。従来のアートフェアとは異なり、計８名以上の作家による作品群がひとつのスペースに並ぶこの機会は、誰でも気軽にその貴重な場を楽しめると同時に、現在進行形での国内アートマーケットの現場を体感できる機会にもなります。
それぞれのアーティスト、そしてそれぞれのギャラリーが持つカラーが調和した、またとないこの特別な展示空間に是非足をお運びください。

2007 年開廊。国内外の現代美術作家の作品を中心にセレクトし展示・販売。アーティストのマネージメントや企画展の開催、ギャラリー外での展覧会企画を行うほか、国内外アートフェアなどにも出展している。
2003 年開廊。戦後美術と現代美術に特化した世界の第一線で活躍する芸術家に焦点を当て、紹介すると同時に、国内外の若いアーティストの育成にも力を注ぐ。2020 年より天王洲のテラダ アートコンプレックス１階にて新しいスペースをオープン。
2010 年開廊。独自の視点で選び抜かれたキュレーションは有名、無名問わず新たな価値観を提案していく。原宿の街をベースに表現者 そしてCOMMON に関わるもの同士が“共に役立つ” 事を目指し活動を続ける。

Announcement of the joint exhibition “VIEWING” by three galleries.
TERM : June 24 (Thu) - June 27 (Sun), 2021
SAI is pleased to announce the joint exhibition "VIEWING" by three galleries: GALLERY TARGET, MAKI gallery and GALLERY COMMON from Thursday June 24 to Sunday June 27, 2021.
This exhibition has been made possible by our intention for the artists who had planned to present at unfortunately cancelled art fair “Art stage OSAKA 2021” due to the state of emergency declared in June this year.
These galleries are not only based in Harajuku and Omotesando areas where is the centre of the cultural establishment in Tokyo, are also widely known as leading contemporary galleries in Japan. This time, they will come together to show the works collectively. From established artists who have been already leading the Japanese art scene to young artists with high expectations for the future, this exhibition gathers works by artists who draw attention fro m various fields using diverse approaches.In contrast to traditional art fairs, this opportunity for a group of works by more than eight artists to line up in one space presents everyone to freely enjoy this rare opportunity and to experience the ongoing domestic art market in Japan.
We are looking forward to seeing you at this unique exhibition space, where the colours of each artist and each gallery are in harmony.

GALLERY TARGET opened in 2007. It particularly select the work of contemporary artist both in Japan and abroad to show and sell. Apart from artist management and curation both at the gallery and outside, it also exhibit their artists’ work at art fairs both in Japan and overseas.
Maki Gallery opened in 2003. It particularly introduces the fro nt lines of artist specialised in post-war and contemporary art, at the sam e time, focuses on fostering young artists in Japan and overseas. It ha s opened a new art space on the first floor of the Terada Art Complex in Tennozu since 2020.
GALLERY COMMON opened in 2010. Its curation often selected from a unique point of view, and attempts to offer a new value regardless of whether it is famous or unknown. GALLERY COMMON is based n the city of Harajuku, is endeavouring to continue their activities with the aim that anyone involved in COMMON “serves together”.
